Festival Of The Crayons metal print by Becky Titus. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
The Festival of the Cranes is an annual celebration of the return of migrating birds to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge south of Socorro, New Mexico. Thousands of sandhill cranes, ducks, geese, and other birds spend the winter at the Bosque. The Festival is in mid-November and consists of tours of the Bosque, wildlife lectures, and arts and crafts shows.
The Festival of the Crayons, created by Becky Titus, is a companion festival held at the same time of the year. It's a fun display of giant Crayons, including a Whooping Crayon. The Crayons are made of 12" diameter cardboard tubes, painted to look like real Crayons. The tips are made of hardware cloth and plaster, and they are fashioned to look like each Crayon has been used a different amount. The Crayons range in height from 2 ft to 7.5 ft.
